Summary

Key Items are Headings, Tables, Fields, Selectors, Styles and Sheets.

Key Items are the named entities in QuSheet which you use to specify what you want QuSheet to calculate and generate.

When you are looking at a key item a menu item (the key item menu) appears on the menu bar named the same as the item type (e.g. Heading), plus a drop down list appears on the tool-strip bar to allow you to select which key item you wish to look at. Items appear in this drop-down list in italics if they are not currently in use (i.e. orphaned).

The Key Item Menu (e.g. Heading) allows you to create a new key item, clone one, rename one or delete one. This menu also contains a Go To option duplicating the effects of the drop-down list on the tool-strip bar.

Where key items refer to one another in display tables, a pop-up box comes up when you press F12 or right-click which allows you to create a new key item of the relevant type “in situ” – i.e. without navigating away.

Deleting orphaned key items is safe. Deleting non-orphaned key items causes QuSheet to substitute the references to the dead key item with a suitable default.

Note that the “z” styles, even though they may be orphaned, cannot be deleted, though they can be modified.
