Summary

In this example, we supply roof tiles in two different materials and two different sizes, for different prices, providing quotes to two different customers.

First step is to save the project file to give a known location for the project. Then we create a sheet for the first customer, since this will be a multiple-sheet project, and generate output to make sure everything is running ok.

Under workbook / generation parameters, put in a title, then set a background colour in the “z default” style (under the Default tab).

Back at the sheet, under Entries, we put in a blank line at the top (via the inbuilt style “z blank line”) then (having got around the Windows lost-right-click problem) create in-situ a new heading called Greeting, in the Explanation part of the Sheet entry.

Navigating to Greeting we create an entry “Dear “ <name> where <name> is a new Table whose value is set in the + Table Values area of the Sheet (since <name> is sheet-specific).

Note: having Greeting referred to from the “Explanation” area of the Sheet entry means the result will be displayed as explanatory text (in proportional font) without giving the option to expand (since this is not the sort of calculation one would want to expose to the viewer).
